PMH Medical Center will offer a free childbirth education course on April 28 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at in Prosser.
The goal of the course is to empower expectant moms and families for their childbirth experience. These day-long courses include hands-on training, a tour of the PMH Family Birthplace and time for questions and answers with the PMH care team.
Participants will learn prenatal care, pain management, stages of labor, labor bag packing advice, delivery expectations, newborn care, breastfeeding techniques, car seat safety and baby milestones.
Participating families also have the opportunity to meet and connect with other expectant families during the course.
The April 28th course is the first of four identical courses offered in 2018. Other course dates include June 9, Sept. 29 and Nov. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at PMH.
PMH Family Birthplace, located at PMH Medical Center in Prosser, welcomed nearly 400 babies at its facility last year. Brian Sollers, DO; Lisa Galbriath, DO; Derek Weaver, DO; and Wali Martin, MD are the primary delivering physicians at PMH.
